1) the ship
Many copper alloys, such as aluminum bronze, manganese bronze, aluminum brass, cannon copper (tin zinc bronze), white steel and nickel copper alloy (Monel), have become standard materials for shipbuilding due to their excellent corrosion resistance to sea water. Copper and copper alloys generally account for 2% to 3% of the weight of warships and merchant ships.
(2) Cars
The copper used for automobiles is 10 ~ 21 kg each, which varies with the type and size of automobiles, accounting for about 6% ~ 9% of the dead weight of cars. Copper and copper alloys are mainly used in radiators, brake system pipelines, hydraulic devices, gears, bearings, brake friction plates, power distribution and power systems, gaskets and all kinds of joints, accessories and accessories. Among them, a large amount of steel is the radiator. Modern tubular belt radiators are welded with brass bands to form radiator tubes and bent with thin copper bands to form fins.
(3) Railway
The electrification of railways requires a great deal of copper and copper alloys. More than 2 tons of special-shaped copper wire are needed for each kilometer of overhead conductor. To increase its strength, small amounts of copper (about 1%) or silver (about 10%) are often added. In addition, copper and copper alloys are used to operate the motors, rectifiers and control, braking, electrical and signaling systems on the train.
(4) Aircraft
Planes can't fly without copper. For example, copper is used in aircraft wiring, hydraulic, cooling and pneumatic systems, aluminum bronze tube is used in bearing retainers and landing gear bearings, magnetic-resistant steel alloys are used in navigation instruments, and copper-broken elastic elements are used in many instruments.
