Introduction to basic properties of red copper

Copper is industrial pure copper, its melting point is 1083℃, no isomerism transformation, the relative density of 8.9g/cm3, five times of magnesium.  The mass of the same volume is about 15% heavier than normal steel.  Because of its rose red color, the appearance of the oxide film is purple, so it is usually called red copper.  It is rich in certain oxygen copper, so also known as oxygen-containing copper.  The impurities are oxidized and discharged, and the solution amount is reduced, which is beneficial to the conductivity of copper and can eliminate the influence of harmful impurities. However, red copper is prone to brittle cracking  in the recovery atmosphere above 370°C.  The trademarks of Chinese copper are T1, T2 and T3, among which T2 copper is widely used.  T1, T2, T3 copper is based on the chemical composition is not the same and distinguished.  T1 red copper copper content in 99.95% or more, the total impurities do not exceed 0.05%;  The copper content of T2 copper is more than 99.90%, and the total impurity content is not more than 0.1%.  The copper content of T3 copper is above 99.7%, and the total impurity content does not exceed 0.3%.  

The appearance of copper is purple red, with high electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance and easy processing.  Therefore, according to different uses are processed into sheet, strip, foil, pipe rod, wire rod, heterosexual copper and copper castings.  Red copper pipe belongs to copper pipe.  The cross section is hollow circular or simple geometric shape of the processed material.  Pipes are divided into shaped pipes and round pipes according to shape.  There are elliptical tube, square tube, rectangular tube, triangle tube, hexagonal tube, drop tube, pentagonal tube, outer square inner circle tube, spiral tube, inner rib tube, outer rib tube, plum tube and so on.  In the round tube, the ratio of outer diameter and wall thickness is thin-walled tube and thick-walled tube, when the ratio of outer diameter and wall thickness is 30:1 ~ 50:1, it becomes thin-walled tube, and what is less than this ratio is called thick-walled tube.  According to the alloy title is divided into red copper tube, brass tube, bronze tube, white copper tube, according to the production method and function is divided into extrusion tube, drawn tube, welding tube, hose, semi-hard tube, according to the use of condensation tube, air conditioning tube, heat pipe, wave guide, oxygen machine tube, aerospace tube, antenna tube, etc..  In addition, there are capillary, coil, straight pipe and other titles, pipe size diameter from 0.5mm to 530mm, wall thickness from 0.1mm to 75mm between.  

Copper has electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance and processing function, can be welded and brazed.  T1 and T2 copper is mainly used as electrical, thermal and corrosion resistant components, such as wires, cables, conductive screws, shells and all kinds of conduits, including aviation industry.  T3 copper is mainly used as a structural material, such as the manufacture of electrical switch gaskets, rivets, pipe nozzles and various conduits, etc.  It is also used for some less dominant conductive elements.
