The homogeneity of silver in copper directly affects the homogeneity of tensile strength (breaking force). The melting point of silver is close to that of copper, and the dispersion of silver in copper is better, so copper-silver alloy is one of the copper alloys that is easier to produce. There are two ways to add silver: direct and intermediate alloy. No matter which method can achieve the goal of uniform composition and less burning loss, it is good. If the former can achieve this goal, the level is higher.

There are two production methods of copper-silver contact wire: continuous casting and continuous rolling. The uniformity of components depends on melting and casting, especially the furnace type used for melting copper. China using continuous up-casting legal type furnace usually belong to the core of the power frequency induction furnace, the furnace melting trench is the secondary coil, it plays an eddy current in copper liquid mixing effect, thus to insure the uniformity of composition, and by using continuous casting and rolling rod furnace type generally don't have this kind of furnace type, from the uniformity of guarantee ingredients, the rod is better than that of continuous casting and rolling on continuous up-casting law.

The flatness of the contact line directly affects the off-line between the pantograph and the contact line after the line is opened to traffic. The practice shows that the flatness is directly related to the straightening strength after the drawing line is formed in the factory, the operation of the line on site and the straightening during the line setting, and has nothing to do with the manufacturing method of the contact line, the grain size of the line, the uneven deformation and the uneven distribution of internal stress. In fact, the deformation degree, hardness distribution, grain size and distribution and internal stress distribution of the double groove contact line after cold drawing are not uniform in the whole length of the cross section, especially in the two grooves. These factors cause irregularities in the whole batch, the whole plate of products and the entire line after wiring.
