There are many processing methods for brass tubes, but they can be divided into hot processing and cold processing. Such as extrusion manufacturing tube blank, cross rolling perforation and other methods are heating the tube blank to far higher than the recrystallization temperature of copper above the deformation processing, so as to obtain the tube blank. The billet tube is made by cold rolling and cold drawing at room temperature. This traditional craft has been used for many years. Up to now, it is mainly used in extrusion billet supply method, which is a traditional copper tube billet supply method. Its production process is to melt and cast electrolytic copper into solid round ingot, and then heat it to more than 850 in the heating furnace, enter the extruder one by one to extrude into tube billet, and then through cold rolling or multi-pass linear stretching to the disk drawing required tube billet. Extrusion can be divided into high extrusion ratio and low extrusion ratio, both of which have fine grain structure and good surface quality. The high extrusion ratio of the tube blank is smaller, the wall thickness is thinner, can be directly processed in the continuous direct machine or disc drawing machine; Large size tube billets can be extruded by large ingot for low extrusion ratio and then extended by cold rolling mill. For the same size of ingot, high extrusion ratio required extrusion tonnage is larger, and the tolerance of extrusion wall thickness is large. At present, the continuous casting and rolling billet supply method is very popular in China, which is a new billet supply method that emerged in the 1990s. Its production process is to cut off the milling surface of horizontal continuous casting hollow tube billet at fixed length and then directly send it to the three-roller planetary pipe mill to roll out thin-walled copper tube with small diameter. Because the three-high pipe mill can make the rolled copper pipe without rotation, it is easy to reel online. It is characterized by short production process, cancellation of reheating and extrusion processes, no matter in energy saving, reducing equipment investment, reducing costs and other methods have advantages. Continuous casting and rolling can provide billets of more than 1500 kg/plate, which cannot be achieved by extrusion method anyway. The large - plate heavy - tube billet creates a very favorable condition for tensile processing yield. Continuous casting and rolling production line from the initial to cast production, from only the production of thick wall tube to become the main thin-wall tube for the billet process, this period has experienced one after another bumpy, experience and lessons, in our country under the efforts of the relevant practitioners, this process is gradually perfect and mature.
